Carl Taylor
Senior Geologist/Geophysicist
Carl Taylor joined the Ridgewood Energy Corporation as a senior member of our Geosciences Department in May of 2008 in the Houston office. His responsibilities include the evaluation of 3-D seismic data and well data to determine the investment and cash flow potential of oil and gas projects. Mr. Taylor has over 27 years of experience as a geologist, the last 18 years working projects in the offshore U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
Before working for Ridgewood, Mr. Taylor spent the last 12 years at BHP Billiton primarily working on large deep-water Gulf of Mexico projects. Mr. Taylor has an excellent reputation and has been associated with many of BHP Billiton's major deep-water discoveries over the past 10 years. In addition to BHP, Mr. Taylor also worked at Amoco (now BP), Hess, and Marathon Oil.
Mr. Taylor is a graduate of Penn State University with a B.S. in Geological Sciences, an M.S. from the University of Michigan in Geological Sciences, and an M.B.A. from the University of Houston in Finance. He is a member of American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Houston Geological Society, Society of Exploration Geophysicists, and the New Orleans Geological Society.
